From our patron Lord Paddy Ashdown

"I was very honoured when Richard Wooldridge asked me to be a Patron of this outstanding Museum

It is, in short a jewel, with many many items which even the largest museum would envy. I challenge anyone who visits it not to be both surprised and deeply impressed by what Richard and his extraordinary little team have put together. For the interested and curious it will, I promise, enthrall. For the serious researcher into matters military it is, quite simply gold-mine.

Add to this a staff who are helpful, relaxed and always welcoming – and you have the ingredients for visit which will hold your attention for as short a time span as an afternoon or as long a one as week, if you can spare the time

The Combined Services Military Museum is a local museum. But it deserves national recognition – which is why I am so happy to support it and, what’s more, recommend it to everyone I meet."
