We have loaned two artefacts from major collections to the National Army Museum. The Mk II Cockle canoe from Operation Frankton, the daring raid on German ships near Bordeaux in 1942, and Special Air Service Counter Terrorism uniform, ‘Black Kit’, used by one of the SAS troopers during the siege on the Iranian Embassy in May 1980. We have also loaned more modern uniforms and equipment used by both SAS CT and Special Boat Service Marine Counter Terrorism.
These items are being enjoyed by people visiting the museum in Chelsea and will hopefully be returned in November. Information and other artefacts relating to these collections are still available to see and read about.
